Between January – June 2025, The Box played host to ‘Nature Rising’ exhibition - a ground-breaking project led by Global Majority communities in Bristol. After the exhibition had finished, we took a moment to reflect and chat through how it all came to be, what the impact was, and what the next steps might be.
Through the National Grid Community Grant Programme, £19,775 was donated to fund the development of three new interactive and engaging climate change themed workshops for school children aged between 5 and 16 years old.
Bristol educational charity and science centre, We The Curious, has launched a new decarbonisation target, committing to ‘a site powered without fossil fuels, using fully renewable electricity, and a 30% reduction in offsite carbon emissions by 2030’.
Our open letter to the Prime Minister appealing against the allowance of new oil and gas licences for drilling as announced at the end of July, and decision to delay our government’s actions on net zero.
Educational charity and science centre, We The Curious is launching a new photography exhibition ‘This Can Change’.
As part of We The Curious’ climate emergency declaration earlier this year, and pledge to become carbon neutral by 2030, there will not be a temporary seasonal ice rink this winter; BUMP roller disco will instead run on Millennium Square from 15 November – 5 January.
A beautiful new piece of climate action street art has been unveiled as part of a new collaboration between We The Curious and Jody Thomas, the acclaimed Bristol artist behind the world-famous mural of Greta Thunberg.
